    Both programs can train students in the clinical side of dental assisting and include administrative training courses, as well. Students are engaged in hands-on learning that emphasizes the range of dental health practices, including chairside skills, radiography and laboratory procedures. After they complete their coursework, students are placed in externships at dental offices where they can practice their skills in supervised, real-world settings.

• Limited Scope X-Ray Technician

    Anthem Career College offers a Limited Scope X-Ray Technician diploma and Associate of Applied Science degree that can prepare students to compete for entry-level positions in the field.
    
    X-rays are important diagnostic tools for physicians seeing new patients with specific complaints. X-ray tech students can be trained in patient care and proper x-ray operations and safety procedures. They can learn how to prepare patients for x-ray and electrocardiogram procedures, venipuncture and injections, and basic lab services.
    
    After completing their coursework, students enroll in externships where they can apply their training in real-world settings. Externships are supervised by a licensed radiologist technician or physician.
    
    Program graduates can compete for entry-level positions as a limited scope x-ray technician or a back office assistant. They are also eligible to sit for the Tennessee State Licensure Examination for Limited Scope X-ray Technician.
